This relay is designed for a soleniod valve type application. It is not designed for say an application where there is a motor involved. The relay leaks small amount of current while it is open. In a solenoid valve application, this doesnt matter nearly as much, since they aren't as sensitive to leaks in current.

In my case, I tried to use this in series with 24V motor(Desert Spring Humidifier). A motor is much more sensitive to leaks in current. It let off a buzzing noise constantly which I was sure would lead to premature motor burnout. I was able to measure a small amount of leaking current when the relay was open.

The only reason this got 3 stars, was that it didn't work for my application.

this relay simply clamps over the common lead for the blower fan, if your heat pump like mine has no dedicated relay for the blower, this little relay will control a whole house humidifier so it only works when the fan is running. it does it's job just fine.

Just what i needed and just as described. Works great on my Honeywell HE360 Power Flow Through Humidifier. Bought it as a replacement for the previous one i bought. Should have read the instruction first, blew out my first because i allowed the metal to make contact with the furnace metal housing.
