The lamp arrived on the expected date in intact packaging. Assembly was uneventful as all pieces were there and they fit. I opted not to install the safety mesh cover because I don't like the look of it. The dimmer switch works fine but based on my experience with another halogen torchiere lamp it doesn't last forever. I replaced the switch on the previous lamp. It was easy to do and only cost $10. I removed the switch from that lamp before getting rid of it to have it around as a replacement for the switch in this new lamp should it fail. I also saved the 300 watt bulb in the event that the lower wattage bulb that the newer lamps come with nowadays turned out too weak. But so far it provides plenty of light. Overall I feel good about pushing up the overall rating of this lamp a bit. :)

The other reviews are right that the pieces don't fit together, and the instructions are pretty worthless. However, I was able to assemble the whole thing in like 10 minutes and it does work. The wire dome isn't properly secured to the top, but it's functional. As the other reviews have mentioned, it's not super bright, but I bought it as an addition to a living room that already has a dim light, so together it works.

I was attracted from the price and it looked good in the pictures , it arrived on time and it was easy to assemble , but after one day it stopped working and I couldn't make work , the switch stopped working and it was very disappointing . I liked the color and also the material , but it just did not do what it was supposed to .
